Dining in Anchorage

Glacier Brewhouse
Fun, happening spot. Serves their own microbrews. Great Alaska seafood, salads, burgers. Orders available in whole or half sizes, substitutions welcome, and they "unconditionally guarantee all food, beverages, and service."

ORSO
Relaxed dining, great atmosphere. Menu recently revamped, with emphasis on Alaska seafood. Variety of Mediterranean dishes. Big amongst locals.

Club Paris
Incredible steaks-some of the best we've ever had. 47-year old downtown classic, voted best steak in Anchorage 9 years in a row. Big amongst locals. Interior is dark (but not in a bad way). Leaving the restaurant after dinner on a summer night, you're almost blinded when you step out the door.

Corsair
True fine dining. With intimate, personal service and very tall booths, you feel like you're the only one there. Probably the most extensive wine list in the state. Excellent food-very gourmet.

Sack's Café and Restaurant
Fashionable restaurant with very creative menu-food is delicious, presentation is excellent. Enjoyed by vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

Crow’s Nest
Like Corsair, true fine dining. With a view of the mountains or the Inlet. Located at the Hotel Captain Cook. For a very special evening.

Simon & Seafort's
Very popular with tourists. Amazing views of the inlet. Wide selection of Alaska seafood and steaks-but long waits.

Sourdough Mining Co.
City's most visitor-focused restaurant. Authentic Alaskana fills the walls, and fun sourdough music piped in. Ambiance plus high-quality food makes for an evening that's more than just a meal. Great ribs, Alaskan seafood. Sundae bar included with all entrees, kid-friendly w/lots of toppings.

Alaska Salmon Chowder House
Good seafood chowders and sandwiches. People watching from sidewalk tables.

Café 817/Muffin Man
Fantastic sandwiches, soups, salads, quiches (and muffins)-all made with super fresh ingredients. Open for breakfast and lunch.

Downtown Deli
Great sandwiches, matzo ball soup, eggs, seafood dishes. One of downtown's few inexpensive sit-down dinners. Very popular with tourists.
